The double vacation paradise of Altenmarkt-Zauchensee lies in the heart of the SalzburgerLand and Salzburg Sports World. By car, it can be reached via the A10 "Tauern" autobahn, simply drive as far as the Knoten Ennstal interchange and follow signs for Altenmarkt/Zauchensee -
by train - to the station in either Altenmarkt or Radstadt
or by plane - Salzburg Airport is only 70km away and is within quick, convenient reach. In the very midst of the magical snows of the Salzburg Sports World, the pulsating heart of the Ski amadé, Altenmarkt-Zauchensee is an ideal wintertime base from which to conquer the other ski areas as well. Altenmarkt-Zauchensee is one of the eight communities that make up the Salzburg Sports World, nestled amid gentle valleys surrounding the Dachstein Massif and Tauern mountains and serving as the starting point during the summer for a wide range of recreational activities: 1,000 km of hiking paths, 500 km of mountain bike trails, two riverside bike paths, 200 km of bridle paths, 10 mountain lifts that run in summer, lakes in which to swim and even an 18-hole championship golf course (+9-hole compact course) that hosts weekly tournaments for visitors.
