The Zauchensee, just a few meters from Hotel Alpenrose, sets the stage for Bergsee Advent, which takes place on several evenings throughout December. Light installations, the Christmas melodies of the carolers and singers, fairy tale readings, seasonal treats, and warming drinks await visitors as they pass through the illuminated entrance gate. Highlight: Every hour there’s a new, surprising show! And when your feet get cold after a walk around the lake or a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride, simply return to the nearby Hotel Alpenrose and warm up.
Advent Market in Altenmarkt
For those wanting to dive even deeper into the Christmas spirit, we recommend a visit to the Advent market in Altenmarkt, about 10 km away. On weekends during Advent, visitors are invited to enjoy seasonal delicacies at the wooden stalls built by local carpenters and discover local handicrafts. Don’t miss the Grundner Nativity scene with moving figures from the 18th century, as well as the live nativity with real animals!
